Glacial and environmental change in Iceland in the Late Weichselian and Early Holocene

The research project examines glacier extent and relative sea-level changes at the end of the last glacial period (the Late Weichselian), charting glacial and environmental change in Iceland at the end of the last glacial period and the beginning of the Holocene. Work on this project is closely tied to the mapping of superficial deposits in Iceland. Data can also be used in mine planning and development. The primary emphasis in the project has been the mapping of former tidemarks throughout the country, their position, and their height above present sea level.
